Message from the Principal

Term 4 Week 7

Hello everyone.

Congratulations to Pre-primary One students and staff who presented today's assembly. You did an excellent job of introducing our special guest and presenters. What clear and confident speakers they are!

Year Seven camp to Bridgetown

We have just returned this week from the Year Seven camp to Bridgetown. Students participated in activities such as canoeing, mountain bike riding through the bush at Donnelly River, team building activities on the challenge course at the Bridgetown Camp School and a music workshop involving beat-box and drumming. Year sevens, you were absolutely outstanding both in your behaviour, but especially in the way you had a real go at all of the requirements during the week. I am very impressed. If you take that attitude to high school in 2012 you will enjoy considerable success.

Congratulations also go to the following people who have won individual awards:

  • Julian J. and Trent Y. have been accepted into the Darling Range Sports College. There were over 200 students who applied for entry, so this is a great result for the boys.
  • Alexandru M. achieved the highest score in Western Australia in the Science testing for the University of New South Wales 2011 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS). He will be presented with a medallion at a special ceremony next Monday.

Christmas Sing-along

Don't forget our Christmas Sing-along evening next Friday Night. It is a fabulous night with the students entertaining us with the songs they have learned under Mr Turner's tutelage, the choir presenting some of their material and recorder recitals from our very talented students who have participated in Ms Laura Peden's Head Start program.

Last newsletter for the year

As this will be the last newsletter for the year, I would like to thank all of our staff for the outstanding job you have done once again, willingly taking on those things that make such a difference. Your expertise, efforts and your boundless energy is acknowledged and appreciated. Lastly of course thank you to you, the parents of our students who are always supportive and positive about the school and in your interactions with staff and the administration. The fact that you are positive and supportive of the school is reflected in your children's positive behaviours and attitudes towards schooling and ultimately in their overall performance. I wish you all a safe and happy festive season.
