Harmony Day

On Tuesday 22nd March all students from Pre Primary to Year 7 headed onto Gibbney Reserve to fly kites together.

It was a magnificent sight to see the brightly coloured kites heading sky wards. The kites were a simple but effective design and flew very well. It was great to see so many parents arriving to school a little earlier to join the fun. The children had the opportunity to make their own kites in small groups during the previous days. Thanks to some parents who came in to assist with the kite making.

Maylands Peninsula Primary School has a wonderful cultural diversity characterised by 26% of our students being born outside Australia in one of 36 different countries and 7% of our students being Aboriginal. While we embrace this diversity at Maylands Peninsula every day, we enjoy taking the time to celebrate it on Harmony Day.
