Election Day

"It was like a real election."

On Thursday 26th November Chris and Pia from the Australian Electoral Commission came out to our school to run our student councillor election in the undercover area. It was like a real election. Everyone in Years 1-6 had to line up and get their name crossed off the list and get a ballot paper. Then each person went into the polling booth and selected the 4 students they thought would make the best councillors for next year. (2010) Next you folded the ballot paper and put it in the ballot box. Everyone got a bookmark from Corbin or David who helped out. The teachers voted too and so did Rose, who voted in her last student council election. Thanks to Mrs Alver for organizing all the election speeches and the voting. We will find out who our new councillors are at the last assembly.
